2020 Crawfish Boil Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Now that the event is being rescheduled, what happens to my ticket payment?
A: All tickets purchased for the original 2020 event date, will be valid on the 2021 event date, once that is confirmed. This applies to all ticket buyers who rolled their 2020 purchase into 2021.

Q: What time should I get there?
A:  As early/late as you want. Gates open at 10am for Tiger Tent ticket holders; General admission tickets enter at 11am. There is a separate entrance for Tiger Tent tickets, just south (or to the left) of the main entrance. At each entrance there will be a line for those bringing in ice chests, and a line for those w/o bags or ice chests to search. Music starts at 11am. Seating is assigned so you'll still have a place to sit even if you come late. Crawfish should be ready for pick up around 1:30pm. The party's over at 5pm. Best to come early, get the best parking, avoid the entry gate lines, and enjoy the fun.

Q: Where will the 2021 event be held?
A: We will be announcing our 2021 venue shortly.

Q: I'd like to bring my friend in a wheelchair. Is there any accommodation for guests with disabilities?
A: By all means bring your friend. Handicapped parking spaces are marked with cones and yellow caution tape. There is a separate entry line for those with disabilities; look for signs. The tables meet ADA recommended height. And there are wheelchair accessible porta-potties on site.

Q: Can I bring a beach umbrella or canopy tent and erect it over the table?
A: Yes, many do. But stakes are not allowed.  Everything must be free standing as underground electrical wires criss-cross the field.  You don't want to be responsible for causing a power outage. Otherwise wear sunscreen and a big hat!

Q: I'm bringing my whole family. What about my kids?
A: At this time, we do expect to be able to host those under 21 years of age. Assuming we get a permit once again for this, there will be an open area within the fenced enclosure where the kids can run around in addition to the green space near your tent. Children (ages 4-12 will need a kids ticket. Kids under 4 do not need a ticket.) Kids tickets get you a hot dog, plus complimentary waters & sodas — but no chairs for their $13.00 ticket. Table seating is not provided for children. Bring a beach chair for them. Only Adult ticket holders are entitled to seating at their assigned table. Look for the Rad Hatter booth in the vendor area; kids & adults love it.

Q:  Beer? Will I have beer with my crawfish??
A: Beer is included with admission all during the event. Last call is at 4:30pm.

Q: What if I don't drink beer?
Non-alcoholic beverages (i.e. sodas, water) are included with your admission and available in tents in each corner of the venue. Wines can also be purchased on-site, for an additional charge. Feel free to bring an ice chest with your favorite non-alcoholic drinks. Just remember NO Glass or Alcohol are allowed on the premises; this is strictly enforced and inspected at the Gate.

Q: I'm allergic to shellfish and my friend is a vegetarian. Can we get a reduced price?
A: Unfortunately, no exceptions. The price covers more than the crawfish. It covers expenses for the bands, site permits, security, party rentals, porta-potties and more. It's also a fundraiser for scholarships for San Diego students attending LSU, and local charities. Proceeds go to good causes -- Louisiana education and local non-profits.

Q: Can I bring my own food & drink?
A: Yes, you can bring you own food. Many people bring snacks & side dishes to share with tablemates. Unopened plastic water bottles are allowed. But no outside alcoholic beverages are allowed into the venue, as per California alcohol laws.

Q: Is other food sold on site?
A:  Yes, several vendors will be selling cajun food, pizza, ice cream and more.

Q: What about other vendors? Anything else for sale?
A: LSU San Diego will be selling Crawfish boil souvenir T-shirts. The LSU Alumni Association will be selling LSU logo items.

Q: What happens to the leftover crawfish if any? Can I buy some to take home?
A:   You can purchase Crawfish to Geaux on your way out of the event.  First come, first served…Cash Only. Often times there are excess boxes for sale on a first come first served basis at a very low cost;  bring cash to our Crawfish to Geaux booth before you leave.

Remember -- NO BALLS OF ANY KIND. That includes soccer balls, footballs, plus corn hole games, glass, alcohol, commercial signs/tents, pets or BBQs or open flames.
