 Crawfish Boil 2009 Video Contest

Those attending the San Diego Alumni  21st Annual Crawfish Boil have the chance to win two pairs of really cool LSU Tigers sunglasses by participating in the video contest!   

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO:  
 
Capture in a video of 2  to 5 minutes how much fun you and your family and friends have at the LSU SD Crawfish Boil.  The winning video will be posted on the San Diego LSU Alumni website, www.lsusandiego.org.  All qualifying entries will be publicly posted on YouTube upon contest completion.  
 
Members of the Crawfish Boil committee will select a winner based on the following criteria:  
 

Originality
Creativity
Video Quality
Audio Quality
Positive Messaging
Positive Images
Fun Quotient
Must be of the 2009 Crawfish Boil
 
We know eating crawfish is messy, but keep your video clean!  
Please, no nudity, obscenity or profanity.  Think Tiger Stadium instead of Bourbon Street!   

 

Contest Rules:

The prize is not redeemable for cash and must be accepted as awarded.

Decisions of the contest judges are final - no substitutions will be available.


By accepting the prize(s), the winner and any guest(s) acknowledges that the LSU San Diego Alumni Chapter  may not be held liable for any loss, damages or injury associated with accepting or using the prize(s) and agrees to use the prize(s) in accordance with the recommended use guidelines provided on the product packaging.

This contest is subject to all state, federal and municipal laws.

The LSU San Diego Alumni Chapter reserves the right to withdraw or terminate this contest at any time without prior notice.

By entering the contest, you certify that your video is original and does not infringe on copyright laws or the privacy of others. Video entries must be no longer than three minutes long and have a title. All video entries must be the original creation of the entrant. The video must not have been previously submitted, distributed, aired or have won any other award in any other competition. All entrants will be required to sign an affidavit verifying the originality of the video and compliance with contest rules. Entry cannot defame or invade the rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any third party personal or proprietary rights.  Entry must be in keeping with Sponsor's image and may not be offensive, as determined by judges.

HOW TO SUBMIT, DEADLINES, AND OTHER STUFF:

Once you've completed your video, please follow these instructions:   
1. Set up a YouTube account if you don't already have one.
2. Upload your video to your account and mark it as "Public" in the settings.
3. Go to www.youtube.com/group/lsusandiego (you can type this url directly into the web address box in a separate window).
4. From the Group's main page, click the "Join This Group" link in the upper right corner.
5. Wait until the Group owner adds you as a member.
6. Once you are accepted as a member, go to your account and click on "Groups" in the top center of the page.
7. A new window will open with LSU San Diego indicated as your group.
8 Click on "LSU San Diego".
9. At new window, click "Add Video".
10. At new window, click "Upload Video".

11. A new window with a frame called Video File Upload will appear. It will say "Success" in the upper right corner of the frame. There will be a form to complete. Remember to include your name, address, phone number and email address in the description box for your video. We'll need that to contact you if you're Winner. Mark your video public. Click "Go to My Videos".

12. A new window will open. Click on the check box, the click "Add to Group".
When you upload, you are agreeing to YouTube's Terms of Use (especially section 5, covering "User Submissions").

Yep, we know.  It's kind of cumbersome, but it's easy once you get the hang of it!  We'll send you an email after your video has been received and soon it will be added to the contest submissions.  
 
The deadline is June 20, 2009.  That gives you four weeks to get it together!
